Marketers have been talking about being data-driven for years, but few have walked the walk. Why? Data science and analytics have a perplexing air of mystery around them, one which seems impenetrable. Vendors paint a picture of impossible heights to scale in order to make use of data.

Well, put those fears aside. In this hands-on workshop, Trust Insights Chief Data Scientist Christopher Penn will walk you through the fundamentals, the 101, of data science as it applies to content marketing. You'll learn:

  • The data science lifecycle
  • Basics of exploratory data analysis
  • Extracting and using data from common analytics tools
  • Transforming data into content

Requirements
For this workshop, come prepared with a laptop, spreadsheet software, access to a web analytics tool like Google Analytics™, and access to some social media data like your Twitter account. Bring along other tools if you have them, like your preferred SEO software, etc.

Prerequisites
Workshop participants should have familiarity with basic content marketing tools such as blogging software, web analytics, spreadsheets, etc.

Level of Difficulty
This workshop is tailored for beginner to intermediate content marketing participants. If you are familiar with multiple regression analysis, tokenization, or natural language processing, this workshop will be too basic for you and you will be unlikely to benefit from it.
